Baltic is a son of Quaprice, who jumped at Grand Prix level but unfortunately died far too early. The stallion Jus de Pomme won double gold at the Atlanta Olympics and is the father of many Grand Prix horses. Then the line continues with the proven trainers Wellington, Orthos, Joost and Rigoletto. Baltic's mother, the star and performance mare Nellandra, also produced the licensed stallion Vegas VDL and the 1.60 m show jumper Don Vito by Ben Maher. Nellandra is the full sister of the Grand Prix horse Melandra. Baltic contains 55.66% whole blood. Results As a 3-year-old, Baltic became champion of the performance test. As a 7-year-old he came sixth in the VION CUP and third in the stallion competition/stallion performance test. Baltic was prepared and trained by James Billington up to the international 1.60 m level. Several good performances were achieved, including fifth in the Leszno GP, seventh in the De Wolden GP and Wierden GP and he won the 1.45m class in Zuidwolde. He came third in the VHO Trophy, second in the 1.45m classes in Drammen and Wierden, fifth in the 1.50m class in Kiel, fifth in the 1.45m final in Herning and seventh in the 1.45m class in Kronenberg. Baltic came eighth in Roosendaal, Geesteren and Ommen in the 1.45m and 1.50m classes respectively. In the Sires of the World, Baltic jumped clear and came tenth. At the beginning of this year, Jur Vrieling took over the reins from James with a 2nd place in the Drachten GP. Baltic VDL then recorded several international victories in 2018 and 2019, including a 1.50m competition in Oldenburg. He was also placed in the Grand Prix Redefin, Poznań, Stuttgart, Valkenswaard, Rotterdam and St. Tropez. Under both James Billington and Jur Vrieling, Baltic achieved several victories and also achieved more than 25 international top 5 placements.
