EHV-1 Confirmed at a Florida Boarding Facility
One Horse Tests Positive

A horse at a boarding facility in Palm Beach County as been diagnosed with EHV-1, accordiing to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
The infected horse is under quarantine, while 52 other horses may have been exposed to the virus. Nothing else has been officially reported as of the publishing of this article.
The winter show circuit is beginning in Florida, including at Wellington in Palm Beach County. In general, many horse show locales have implemented biosecurity measures.
There was an EHV-1 outbreak affecting the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association barrel-racing event held in Texas in November, which contributed to the spiking number of EHV-1 cases in the U.S. this year.
