TOP HORSE: Donatello d’Auge
This month, we celebrate a true jumping sensation — Donatello d’Auge, the remarkable 12-year-old Selle Français gelding by Jarnac, who soared to victory at the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final 2025 in Basel with his rider Julien Epaillard (FRA). Bred and owned by Epaillard and his Wife, Donatello is blending power and precision in a way that continues to captivate fans worldwide.
From the moment the World Cup season began, Donatello was impossible to ignore. He stormed to victory in the Basel qualifier in January, a performance that foreshadowed his dominance at the same venue during the Finals. The duo kicked off the Final with a commanding win in the speed class and never relinquished the lead, finishing the championship with just four penalties and securing France’s first World Cup Final title in over two decades.
With his explosive jump, cat-like agility, and seemingly effortless control, Donatello d’Auge has consistently demonstrated that he is among the best horses at the highest level. His instinct for the sport and synergy with Epaillard, who has developed him from a young horse into a world-class competitor, exemplify trust and a long-term partnership.
From his signature Basel brilliance to consistent top-level performances across the Western European League, Donatello’s 2024/2025 season has been nothing short of spectacular.
