Former CEO of Kentucky Five-Star Event is Appointed to a New FEI Position

The former CEO of the organization behind the Defender Kentucky CCI5* Three Day Event, Lexington CCI4*-S, and Kentucky International CSI5* has accepted a position with the FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale).

The FEI has announced that Molly Day will be Director of the Eventing & Driving Department, a newly created role reflecting the merger of the two departments. Day, who is originally from Great Britain, most recently served as CEO of Equestrian Events Inc. in Lexington, Kentucky, directing one of only seven 5* level Eventing competitions in the world.

Background on FEI department merger

Announced in 2025, the department merger is designed to capitalize on shared opportunities between Eventing and Driving & Para Driving and to support the continued growth of the disciplines, and is in effect as this month. Day, who was selected following an international executive search, will officially join the FEI on February 1 2026.

Day's other former leadership roles

Day has held senior leadership roles with The Jockey Club in the United Kingdom, including General Manager of Haydock Park and Carlisle Racecourses.

Day has also contributed to governance and inclusion in equestrian sport, serving as a Trustee of Calvert Trust Stables and on the Women in Racing committee, where she supported initiatives on safeguarding, sustainability, gender equity, and talent development.
