Quietly supporting your horse throughout the course
Patience is a virtue when it comes to training horses! During his clinic at the Showjumpers Academy in Belgium Henrik von Eckermann talks about the importance of both horse and rider learning to wait for each other. The rider has to make sure to “meet” his horse and give them as much support as they need, without it being too much. A difficult task! In this lesson Henrik even gets on the horse himself, to show how little movement is actually needed to collect a horse.
Henrik von Eckermann is a swedish showjumper who has already represented his country at several championships and became team olympic champion in 2021. Until 2016 he was a rider at Ludger Beerbaum Stable, then he started his own sport stable close to Bonn in Germany.
