Mendoza - Family Portrait

Robert Mendoza began as a working student for Joe and Patty Forest at Horton's Farm in Grantham, New Hampshire. During his time there Joe taught Robert all skills needed to successfully train a young horse in a patient step-by-step manner. After working side-by-side with Joe as assistant trainer Robert took on the position as head trainer for a private show jumping barn in New Hampshire, where he developed his first Grand Prix horse. Olympic Silver Medalist, Michael Page, provided Robert with words of wisdom that he has come to live by, “Learn something from everyone you ride with, but you will always be you. Take the tools you learn from everyone and add them to YOUR toolbox”. From 2012 to the present, Robert has been part of the team at Bannockburn Farm, a BWP breeding farm in Bowling Green, Indiana. By developing horses and training young talents till the Grand Prix, Robert shows a unique ability to see the horses' needs and combine those with the requirements of the rider to make a great team. Both daughters of the Mendoza family, Nora and Elise luckily share the passion of their parents. 2019 Nora got to ride Jewel B, one of their most successful horses in the Children's Jumper Classic at the World Equestrian Center! We are excited about what there is to come from this young talent!
