The Landino VDL, bred by VDL Stud, made an excellent impression at both the KWPN and the NRPS stallion show. The Stakkato Gold son jumps with great overview, light-footedness and has athletic abilities. Father Stakkato Gold is considered perhaps the best breeding son of the legendary Stakkato. With over 30 offspring active at the international Grand Prix level, Stakkato Gold is a leader and his offspring excel in reflexes, technique and ability. Landino VDL's grandfather, Cilton, is a son of Calando I, who is rarely used in breeding but has produced a number of remarkable show jumpers. The Landino's lineage is then completed with the legends Nimmerdor and Ladykiller xx.
Landino VDL comes from one of the VDL stud farm's most successful breeding lines; Mother Sancara VDL produced the international Grand Prix show jumper Aksai Chin VDL from Suzanne Tepper and Jami Jensen. Grandmother Zancara is one of the best broodmares in the Netherlands. This Nimmerdor daughter produced no fewer than five 1.60 m show jumpers, including the licensed stallions Pessoa VDL, Montreal VDL and, above all, the silver Olympic champion and world champion Bubalu VDL under Jur Vrieling. Zancara is also the mother of the licensed stallion Great Pleasure and was the basis of the Grand Prix show jumpers Exxon Hedonist (Jérôme Guery), Cika (Jens van Grunsven), Garrincha Hedoniste (Wilm Vermeir), Brooke van de Zuuthoeve (Richie Moloney), Tristan Horta Z (Virginie Thonon), Dakar VDL (Tina Di Landri & Shawn Casady) and Sherlock CCDK (José Thiry). Numerous Grand Prix show jumpers and approved stallions also come from this famous Holsteiner line 474a, including Verdi TN (Maikel van der Vleuten), Claire Z (Pieter Devos), Vingino (Abdel Saïd) and N-Aldato (Emile Hendrix).
