Nine world rankings jumping classes at the five-star-event The CSI Basel is not only risen to a five-star event, its attractivity has also grown after last year's glamorous premiere in the St. Jakobs-Arena. 20 of the 30 top riders of the world ranking announced their arrival.
"But we don't want more than 50 riders to start in Basel", said CSI-sports executive Hansueli Sprunger. "The quality is more important than the quantity. The budget has been raised to from one million to three million Swiss francs, thanks to the support of the main sponsor H. Moser & Cie. The price money was raised from 499 000 to 750 000 francs. The Grand Prix itself is endowed with 300 000 francs.
