Zanzibar is what dressage dreams are made of. Tall, dark, modern and of course handsome! This young prospect is the definition of the word elegant in looks and has three elastic, floating gaits to match. He has a curious nature as well as a brave and bold disposition. He shows incredible athletic ability. A floating walk, canter reminiscent of his sire Zico and great hock action. Zanzibar has grown up in a herd environment with his peers and is well socialized. He is a potential partner for the serious competitor. Sire- Zico is a stunning stallion who was the reserve champion in fall of 2021 in Canada at his stallion licensing. In Avenches before his import to Canada he placed Tenth in foal championships dressage category. He has a total, uncompromised dressage pedigree. His sire, Zonik, needs no introduction after winning the Dutch Grand Tour championships in 2017 and 2018 and qualifying for the 2020 Olympics. His dam Deliah has placements in medium level dressage and qualified for the Spanish championship. The Dam’s full brother is Delioh who just competed in the European Championships of Dressage. Zico’s full sister Zoja von Buchmatt was the 4 year old Swiss mare champion in 2022 Dam- Stella is our premium inspected broodmare who won her age category at the 2022 CWHBA breeders show here in Alberta. She produces foals who inherit her best qualities while at the same time complimenting the stallions attributes. She is a truly beautiful mare who passes on her refined and inquisitive face, elegant neck and expression. Her foals show curiosity, confidence and a willingness to learn.
