Marrakesh is a tall and elegant Hanoverian gelding by “Morricone” and out of
Premium Canadian Champion Hanoverian mare “Splendor”. He is very kind and
co-operative, a definite amateur owner type temperament although talented
enough to take an individual up through the upper levels in dressage. He is bred
to be a dressage horse although he is quite happy to go through a jump chute
and does so exhibiting his athleticism, scope and very good technique. He has
been well handled since birth and is fun to be around. A most inquisitive
individual that wants to be with you. Marrakesh is registered and branded
Hanoverian with a wonderful mind looking for his very own dance partner.
Sire Morricone:
The shining Champion Stallion and phenomenon of rideability.
This champion stallion's elegance is hard to beat. With his royal appearance and
outstanding movements, and always in self carriage. Under saddle, Morricone
exceeds all expectations. For one, he dances through three fantastic basic
gaits, showing rhythm and a captivating activity of the hind legs.
In his 30 day test in Adelsheidsdorf, he had an overall dressage capability score
of 9.33 and a breeding value for dressage a sensational 158 points. The judges’
panel agreed four times to award the maximum score of 10.0, twice for the walk
and twice for rideability. The scores 9.5 and 9.0 were all nine times for the
trot, canter, interior qualities, character, temperament, and willingness to work.
Dam: Splendor
Splendor has earned the prestigious status of being a Premium mare at her mare
performance test. She was named the Champion Canadian bred Hanoverian
Mare at Spruce Meadows in 2015. One of Splendor’s noteworthy attributes is her temperament, which is described as relaxed and kind. This gentle and easygoing nature is highly desirable in a broodmare, as she passes it down to her offspring showing similar dispositions.
