Breeding and sport with highlights from Wednesday to Sunday
Marbach/Weilheim. The HÖVELER State Championships will be held on the grounds of the Weilheim/Teck Riding and Driving Club from 30 June to 4 July 2021. The preparations for this annual highlight of the Pferdezuchtverband Baden-Württemberg e.V. are largely completed. The schedule has been finalised and offers a varied programme around the young horses from the Ländle over five days. Particularly pleasing is the fact that the Corona Regulation allows both amateurs and spectators to attend this event. There is also no longer an obligation to prove a negative Corona test.
The event will start on Wednesday with the entry competitions for show jumpers, which will be advertised as novice (A*) and elementary (L) level show jumping competitions for the 4 and 5 year olds. The 6-year-olds will be offered an M* jumping class for this purpose. Wednesday will be rounded off by the foal show of the Nürtingen-Esslingen Breeding Association, for which around 30 foals have registered. On Thursday, the final competitions will get serious. The State Championships for 4-year-old show jumpers at A** level, which is being held for the second time, is also a qualification for the finals of the PSA Tour, which will take place in Winterlingen at the beginning of September. The 5 and 6 year olds determine their state champion in the Bundeschampionat qualifiers at M* level. The dressage horses will start on Thursday afternoon with the warm-up for the Golden Ribbon, an M** dressage. On Friday, the qualifying competitions for 3 and 4-year-old riding horses and sport ponies will take place, as well as the entry competitions for 5 and 6-year-old dressage horses at L and M level. This will be followed on Saturday by the final competitions with Bundeschampionat tests (3 and 4 year olds) and qualifications (5 and 6 year olds) and the traditional Golden Ribbon, where the best young dressage horse from the state breed will be determined in an advanced (S*) level dressage test. The Championships will be rounded off on Sunday with the state mare show. For the first time since its inception, the Franz-Strahl-Schäfer Show will no longer be held on 3 October. About 100 mares of the breeds German Sport Horse, Old Württemberg as well as numerous pony and special breeds have been entered for this breeding highlight.
