In January 2013, the world’s best showjumpers return to Switzerland’s beautiful city on the Rhine. They and their equally famous horses take on the challenge of the best-endowed indoor Grand Prix on the international circuit. The result is an absolutely world-class tournament that combines the finest horsemanship with nail-biting excitement. Spectators, media and sponsors can all look forward to four amazing days. The unbelievable purse totals more than CHF 900,000 for 17 competitions, including the amateur events. And that’s not all: nine of the eleven international competitions count towards world rankings, three of them with double points. The watchmakers and main sponsors of CSI Basel are putting up a Grand Prix purse of CHF 450,000. That is certain to attract a star-studded line-up of Olympic competitors as well as Swiss, European and World Champions. Basel’s St. Jakobshalle provides the perfect setting in every respect: 6000 spectators enjoy a great view of the course, and the two VIP areas “White Horse Club” and “Black Horse Club” make every jump a special experience.
