Strzegom October Festival - the finale of the equestrian season in Morawa. 317 horse-and-rider combinations at the starting line, 14 competitions, including the Polish Championships and the Lower Silesian Championships in the equestrian triathlon and the European Youth Tournament, as well as Olympic medalists in the lineup - the tenth edition of Strzegom October Festival starts on Thursday. This will be the last international eventing competition in Poland this year and the conclusion of the sporting season at the hippodrome in Morawa. The arenas of Strzegom will host riders from 17 countries, and the entry list includes the names of some of the world's biggest eventing stars. Among those competing will be the current – and triple - Olympic champion from Paris, the European and world champion, Germany's Michael Jung; his compatriot Ingrid Klimke, the two-time European champion; Australia's Andrew Hoy, the six-time Olympic medalist and true legend of equestrian sport; and Sweden's Sara Algotsson Ostholt, Olympic silver medalist.
Top Polish eventers will compete for medals in the Polish Championships and the Lower Silesian Championships. The sporting program includes seven international competitions from two- to four-star level in both short and long formats, the 1*-Intro class, and three youth classes: for ponies, juniors and young riders as part of the European Youth Eventing Masters. Four national classes will also be played out. The Strzegom October Festival starts on Thursday with dressage trials. The cross-country will be played out over three days, from Friday to Sunday, and the final tests determining the winners will take place at the weekend during the show jumping and cross-country trials.
