SIGNAL IDUNA CUP, Dortmund

From 18 to 21 March the 58. International Horse Show Westfallenhallen Dortmund should become a festival. As a great event the final of the Meggle Champions dressage series, that brings the best dressage riders and horses to the Westfalenhalle, can already be announced. Pure dressage and show jumping – in addition a big exhibition and a pinch of show – all that provide the attraction of the tradition-rich Dortmund Horse Show.

The Meggle Champions enfold a magnetic effect already for the second time. The final, which takes place in Dortmund, is nevertheless pursed with 50,000 Euro in the Grand Prix alone and, so far, horses and riders could qualify in six famous and international competition sites. Laura Bechtolsheimer from Great Britain as well as the treble Olympic winner Anky van Grunsven from the Netherlands and shooting star Matthias-Alexander Rath (Kronberg), Monica Theodorescu (Sassenberg) and also Christoph Koschel (Hagen a. T.W.), World Cup winner Steffen Peters (USA) and Ulla Salzgeber (Bad Wörishofen) qualified for the final. Dortmund will also be a restart for Isabell Werth. All that makes the dressage in Dortmund an attraction...

In the jumping course it's a matter of the great classics -  ahead of all the Grand Prix of Federal Republic of Germany. Furthermore, the riders already compete for starts in the Masters League show jumping series. Who wants to participate in the big final in Frankfurt in 2010, can achieve the ticket for it with top-class performances on Saturday and Sunday. The winner on Saturday and the three best of the Grand Prix qualify for the Masters League. In March 2009, Ludger Beerbaum (Riesenbeck), the Dutch Jeroen Dubbeldam and Marcus Ehning (Borken) achieved the ticket for the final and Franz-Josef “Peppi” Dahlmann (Herford) won the Championship of Dortmund.
