Danish dressage rider Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour has maintained her position as the world's leading dressage rider for another month.

The latest update of the FEI world rankings confirms that she continues to hold the top spot with 2024 points, surpassing German rider Isabell Werth, who remains in second place with 1855 points.

British rider Charlotte Fry is still ranked third with 1817 points, while Becky Moody has climbed to fourth with 1682 points, moving ahead of Dinja van Liere, who is now fifth with 1608 points.

Meanwhile, Danish riders Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Nanna Skodborg Merrald have slipped in the rankings; Andersen has fallen from eighth to tenth place with 1542 points, while Merrald moves from ninth to eleventh with 1540 points.

In the world of dressage horses, Mount St John Freestyle retains its first place, however, there has been some movement among the other top horses.

Fry's Glamourdale has advanced to second place, while Werth's DSP Quantaz has risen to third from last month's ninth position.

Notably, the Danish-owned stallion Total Hope OLD, ridden by Norwegian Isabel Freese and owned by Lone Bøegh Henriksen, has made gains, moving from seventh to fifth place. On the other hand, Werth's DV mare Wendy De Fontaine has dropped significantly from second to forty-sixth, as she has not competed since the World Cup event in Stockholm last December.

The World Cup final takes place this weekend in Basel, offering opportunities for riders to earn valuable points. However, no Danish riders will be participating, raising questions about whether Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour and Mount St John Freestyle can retain their lead into May.
