Sandra Sysojeva Wins Opening Leg of 2025 Central European League World Cup

Polish rider Sandra Sysojeva achieved victory in the first leg of the 2025 Central European League World Cup circuit, which took place in Mariakalnok, Hungary, from May 16 to 18, 2025.
This event marks the beginning of a series of 12 qualifiers for this year's Central European League. The Central European League allows competitors to earn points towards the CEL ranking, with hopes of qualifying for the 2027 World Cup Finals in Fort Worth, Texas. The Mariakalnok event coincided with the celebration of its 10th anniversary. Throughout the year, various qualifiers will be conducted in locations such as Olomouc, Parnu, Lipica, Pilisjaszfalu, Brno, Dunajsky Klatov, Bialy Las, Fot, Tallinn, Wroclaw, and Motesice, running from May to November 2025.
In the Grand Prix, Sysojeva outperformed Luxembourg's Fie Skarsoe, achieving a score of 68.609% on her mare. Skarsoe secured second place riding her 12-year-old Lusitano, while Austrian rider Bettina Kendlbacher finished closely behind in third, performing on her own 12-year-old Austrian warmblood.
Sysojeva's competitive season commenced in February with her first competition in Doha, followed by participation in the CDI Lier and the 2025 World Cup Finals in Basel.
