Mark Bluman and Landon de Nyze Win the MLSJ FEI5* Qualifier

A Tough First Round for Many and Eight Make the Jump-off

Columbian Mark Bluman and the 12-year-old Zangersheide gelding Landon de Nyze jumped to victory in the $182,000 1.55m FEI5* Qualifier by Great American Insurance at the Desert International Horse Park in Thermal, California. Bluman is with Maccabi United, the team in first place in the standings.

Callie Schott and Garant, a 14-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, came in second in the Major League Show Jumping (MLSJ) class, as part of team Archers. Fellow American Laura Kraut finished third with the 10-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare Kaylee. Kraut belongs to the DIHP (Desert International Horse Park) Roadrunners team,

The Grand Prix qualifier increased to $182,000 this year from $62,500 in 2024. FEI ranking points also increasedfrom 80 in 2024 to 130 this year.

France's Nina Mallevaey and Dynastie de Beaufour had the fastest time in the jump-off but pulled the last rail.

Australian Hilary Scott and Clarima, along with Canada's Kyle Timm and Glamour du Chanu, finished ninth and tenth, respectively, after ending with one time fault in the first round.

Daniel Bluman of Israel had an uncharacteristic round with Corbie V.V. In a starting field of 42, the pair finished 33rd, with eight jumping faults (eight for circling) and several time faults. Daniel Bluman is first in the MLSJ standings and, like his brother Mark, is a member of team Maccabi United. Daniel Bluman and Corbie V.V. have been enjoying top Grand Prix finishes this year in MLSJ.
