It was a masterclass in hunter brilliance as Victoria Colvin delivered a dominant performance under the lights, clinching first and tying for second in the International Hunter Derby during Week III of the WEC Summer Series.

Course designer Dean Rheinheimer set the stage with flowing, technical tracks that highlighted precision, rhythm, and expression—offering the perfect canvas for elite hunter combinations to shine. A panel of respected judges—Jimmy Lee and Amy Eidson (Panel One) alongside Karen Deprato and Traci Weston (Panel Two)—watched closely as 23 top pairs battled it out for derby glory.

Colvin, who’s been on a roll all season, kicked off the night aboard Southern Night, an elegant 8-year-old KWPN gelding owned by SG Equestrian LLC. Their smooth and stylish first round earned a 164, setting the tone early.

But Colvin wasn’t done.

She returned aboard Dicoblue PS, a striking 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding owned by Castellrock LLC, and upped the ante with a commanding 185 in the first round—the highest score of the night.

As the competition heated up in the handy round, Southern Night came back with flair, earning a 176 for a 340 overall, eventually tying for second place. Then, in a high-pressure final round, Colvin and Dicoblue PS closed the night with brilliance—earning a show-stopping 193 in the handy to finish on an incredible 378 total and claim the victory.

From start to finish, Colvin’s precision, poise, and polish stole the show—solidifying her place once again at the top of the hunter sport.
