U.S.’s Kent Farrington Leads Jumping World Rankings

Kent Farrington from the United States has been ranked as the world number one in show jumping according to the latest update from the Longines Rankings.

This ranking update, released on May 6, 2025, reveals that Farrington has garnered 3,269 points, securing his position after a notable victory at the CSI5* event in Lexington, Kentucky. His performances in Wellington, Florida, and Kentucky have contributed significantly to his ranking. This change in the rankings also signifies the end of Henrik von Eckermann's time at the top, which lasted since August 2022. Henrik von Eckermann held the longest reign at the top of the rankings with a total of 32 months at the top of the rankings since the inception of the rankings 14 years ago.

Farrington's previous stint at world number one occurred in May 2017 when he initially surpassed fellow American, McLain Ward. He held that top position for a year until it was taken by Harrie Smolders from the Netherlands in May 2018.

In the latest standings, Ben Maher from Great Britain has moved up to second place with 3,064 points. Henrik von Eckermann is now in third with 3,026 points, followed by Christian Kukuk from Germany in fourth with 2,928 points, and Steve Guerdat from Switzerland maintaining the fifth position with 2,886 points. Cian O'Connor has breached the top 10 for the first time in his career after a successful month in the US, ending in a point total of 2675.
