Shanghai Swans Secure Victory at GCL Mexico City

The GCL of Mexico City presented by GNP Seguros showcased a compelling event in the 2025 championship race, as top teams competed at Campo Marte.

With a lively audience amplifying the tension, two rounds of thrilling competition took place, leading to a notable change in the overall standings. The Shanghai Swans achieved a remarkable victory, being the only team to finish without faults, showcasing precision and strategy in their performance. Max Kühner, under significant pressure, secured the win with a flawless round aboard EIC Cooley Jump the Q. Prior to this, teammate Katharina Rhomberg made a crucial contribution with a strong performance that included double clears on two horses, following a solid opening from Christian Ahlmann.


The competition for podium spots was equally intense, with Cannes Stars and Riesenbeck International vying for top positions. Cannes Stars managed to secure second place with just four faults, aided by strong performances from Sanne Thijsen and Katrin Eckermann. Riesenbeck International, the reigning champions, took third place, demonstrating their reliability with solid rounds from new team members Marco Kutscher and Maximilian Weishaupt.


Following the event, significant shifts occurred in the 2025 championship standings: Cannes Stars led with 55 points, followed by the Shanghai Swans at 41 points and Prague Lions at 38 points, setting the stage for further competition. Marco Kutscher noted the importance of the 21 championship points earned by Riesenbeck International in Stage 2 and expressed satisfaction with their third-place finish.
