Brash and Hello Jefferson Claim Historic Victory in $5 Million CPKC ‘International’ Grand Prix

Spruce Meadows’ 50th anniversary reached its pinnacle on Sunday as Scott Brash and Hello Jefferson captured the richest purse in show jumping—the $5 million CPKC ‘International’ CSI5* Grand Prix. The win marked another milestone in Brash’s career, coming exactly a decade after his Rolex Grand Slam triumph in 2015.
A Demanding Test of Skill
Designed by Leopoldo Palacios (VEN), the CPKC ‘International’ challenged riders with 13 obstacles and 17 efforts, including two open water jumps. Only 12 of the original field returned for round two, including lone American Kyle King aboard his 10-year-old mare Kayenne Z.
Flawless Jump-Off Seals Victory
With no clear rounds in the second phase, Brash and King, each on 4 faults, faced off in a decisive jump-off. Brash guided Lady Pauline Harris and Lady Pauline Kirkham’s 16-year-old gelding Hello Jefferson to a flawless 46.97-second round, setting a time King could not beat, finishing with a rail at the penultimate fence. Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat rounded out the podium on Venard de Cerisy with 5 faults.
The win secured Brash $3.62 million USD and cemented his place in history as the champion of Spruce Meadows’ golden anniversary edition of its signature class.

Callie Schott and Garant Fly To a Win in the MLSJ Palm Springs Grand Prix
