Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final Begins in Basel

This week, the 45th edition of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final is taking place in Basel, Switzerland.

The competition features 41 leading riders from 22 countries, including a strong representation from Belgium. Among the competitors are notable figures like Swedish world champion Henrik von Eckermann, who is defending his titles from 2023 and 2024, and Olympic team champion Ben Maher from Great Britain. Other prominent participants include French Olympic bronze medalist Julien Epaillard and American silver medalist Laura Kraut.

Swiss competitors Martin Fuchs and Edouard Schmitz are aiming for success on home turf, while Belgian riders like Pieter Devos and Gregory Wathelet hope to secure a top placement. In addition, the event introduces a new initiative focused on horse welfare. The Equine Quality Control (EQC) pilot project will feature three independent experts monitoring the warm-up areas, keeping track of any concerns, and providing daily reports to officials. While these areas will not be open to the public due to infrastructure constraints, organizers plan to enhance transparency by installing three large screens at the entrance of St. Jakobshalle.
