Tracy Fenney and MTM Apple Dominate the HITS Ocala Grand Prix

Tracy Fenney and her longtime partner - the 15-year-old Danish Warmblood mare MTM Apple - took the biggest bite out of the prize money on Saturday at the $60,000 HITS Ocala Grand Prix. Fenney has complete confidence in the grey mare.

“She always rises to the occasion,” said Fenney. “She comes to the show and I don’t have to worry about what they set or anything because she just knows her job. She can run and leave strides out and she can roll back. She has such good footwork, and I think that’s what makes her so quick."

Fenney says she plans to jump MTM Apple weekly in the HITS Ocala Grand Prix classes.

An all female top-three finish

Nine of the 15 riders advanced to the jump-off. Fenney was first to go, with a double clear round, and her time proved untouchable. Dominique Damico and her 15 year-old Oldenburg gelding Cava came the closest, finishing second.

Chloe Desjarlais and Casastello PS, an 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding, were the only other double clear jump-off round.

Fenney placed fourth with her other entry - MTM Myrbalia O - and was the fastest four faulter in the jump-off.
