With a family history deeply rooted in horses, Chloe Reid's lineage boasts an impressive legacy. Her uncle, Chester Weber, a driving competitor, and her grandmother, the proprietor of a prestigious thoroughbred racing facility, have instilled a profound equestrian tradition within her blood.
Chloe Reid, an esteemed American show jumping rider, now assumes the role of Co-President at the Live Oak International Horse Show facility, working alongside her uncle and grandmother. In this multifaceted role, she deftly orchestrates the delicate balance between competing with her own horses and overseeing the organization of the show.
Having frequented international competitions extensively, Reid possesses an acute understanding of the essence of exceptional equestrian sport. She skillfully replicates this essence in a creative manner within their family-owned showgrounds.
"I will never go to a show and be the first one complaining - I understand the blood sweat and tears that go into making any of these events possible,” said Reid.
Apart from her administrative responsibilities, Reid is a tenacious competitor, vying for victory on the global stage. Her journey commenced on the family farm when her uncle first placed her atop a pony for the first time. From there, he escorted her to the Devon Horse Show, and the rest, as they say, is history.
“Horses have always been in my blood… the horse bug landed on me,” said Reid.
Hailing from Washington, DC, Reid was fortunate to have supportive parents who would drive her long distances every day, facilitating her equestrian pursuits. Their unwavering commitment bore fruit when, as a mere high school freshman, she became the youngest person ever to represent the United States in international show jumping competitions, earning her the opportunity to compete for the U.S. Show Jumping Team in Europe.
This experience ignited her competitive spirit and fueled her love for team competitions and international stages. After completing high school, she ventured to Germany, training under Marcus Beerbaum of Beerbaum Stables for a fruitful eight-month period.
“She builds great partnerships with her horses, it’s a great quality to have because her horses are really fighting for her in the ring,” said Beerbaum.
One of her horses, Luis, helped her compete against her previous barn Beerbaum Stables and take victory in the Longines Whitsun Tournament 2019 Longines Grand Prix. This was a huge milestone for her, since she spent such an extended period of time training with them.
“We had done a lot of clear rounds leading up to that at big shows, I knew he could do it and he was doing so amazing,” said Reid, “It was a really exciting moment that I was able to have that victory.”
What began as a humble ride at the age of four has blossomed into a lifelong devotion to equestrian sports. Whether mounted on a horse or organizing an internationally renowned multidisciplinary show, Chloe Reid has consistently proven her mettle in every endeavor she pursues.
Here are some of her accolades, to name a few:

Samorin Slovakia 3* Grand Prix Winner, 2022
Member of the CSIO5* Aachen Nations Cup Team, 2022
