Michael Jung to Compete Again at Kentucky in 2025

Michael Jung is set to return to the Kentucky Horse Park in 2025, marking a decade since his first victory there in 2015. His last triumph at the venue came in 2022 with fischerChipmunk FRH, who will again be his mount at the 2025 Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by MARS Equestrian.

This prestigious event, scheduled for April 24-27, will feature six of the top twelve eventing riders from around the globe, including World Number One Tom McEwen from Great Britain and World Number Two Tim Price from New Zealand.

McEwen is determined to secure the top spot after finishing second in both 2023 and 2024 with his horse JL Dublin, who is returning for a third consecutive year along with another of his mounts, Brookfield Quality. The final decision regarding which horse he will take to the event remains pending, as both are also listed for the upcoming Badminton Horse Trials.

Harry Meade is aiming high with a remarkable representation in both events, entering five horses for Badminton, of which three—Superstition, Grafennacht, and Et Hop Du Matz—will compete at Kentucky. Lucienne Bellissimo, a British rider based in the US, will make her 5* debut aboard Dyri.

Tim Price returns, with aspirations for victory, accompanied by his wife Jonelle, who has previously been successful at Kentucky. Tim will ride Jarillo, while Jonelle is entered with Hiarado, alongside New Zealander Clarke Johnstone, who will compete on Menlo Park.

The competition will also see Australian entry Bec Braitling, who will ride Caravaggio II.
