RIDE 2022 - Season 5 OUT NOW!

Episode 1:

This month’s ride reveals how, following a battle with cancer in 2016, her extraordinary connection with equines helped 21 year old South African Paralympian Cayla van der Walt heal. We visit the shorelines of Belgium, where a group of dedicated seamen devote their time to the ancient of art of horseback shrimping. And meet the young American songbird, who’s striking a chord with both Dressage and music fans accross the globe.

Episode 2:

Episode 2 of RIDE 2022 ride recognises the talents of Africa’s rising stars as they receive training in Morocco ahead of the Youth Equestrian Games. We feature the Friesians of Green Bank Farm in Cumbria, a haven for the Dutch breed that stole equestrian enthusiast Tracey Alexander’s heart. And we visit the lifesavers at Liphook Equine hospital, one of the UK’s largest specialist veterinary practices dedicated entirely to the horse world.

Episode 3: 

On this month’s Ride we celebrate the unique connection with horses that championed China’s “Dressage Girl” Sarah Rao’s rise to fame. We’re in the saddle for the annual “Transhumance” that sees mild-mannered Merens make the two-hour trek up the Pyrenean mountains to their summer grazing land. And we visit Vancouver where their Urban equine project - a community initiative – is providing inspiration for inner-city youths.

Episode 4:

This month’s Ride visits Richmond’s Holly Lodge, where the nurturing nature of “Operation Centaur’s” horses is helping Londoners learn to mend mental health issues. Flying Dutchman Harrie Smolders talks talent and shares his gift for spotting superstar jumpers. And French Horse Whisperer and Liberty trainer Jean-Francois Pignon explains why silence is golden when it comes to “speaking horse”.

Episode 5: 

This month’s Ride takes you back in time to Germany’s oldest state stud - Marbach, where work to ensure the preservation of rare breeds is ongoing. We’re at home in Yorkshire with UK stunt riding sensation Ben Atkinson, whose family run business puts on dazzling displays and provides horses for the TV and film industry.  And in Denmark, Canadian Vaulting star Averill Saunders showcases her skills both in the air and in the saddle at the FEI World Championships. 

Episode 6:

This month’s Ride from FEI originals continues its worldwide equestrian wanderings, seeking out soul warming stories that honour the unending union between equines and humans. At Cuacolandia, a rescue sanctuary in Mexico, animal rights campaigner Elena Larrea ensures more than 100 maltreated residents receive the care they deserve to live out their days with dignity.

Episode 7:

This Episode proffers the past. “Your Carriage Awaits” in Sark, the smallest of the Channel Islands, where horse-drawn vehicles remain the primary means of transport. We seek out an ancient breed of Danish equines, renowned for their sensational spots, at South Africa’s Majestic Knabstrupper Stud, and talk tradition at the Dublin Horse Show with devotees of the age-old art of Side Saddle. 

Episode 8:

This month, with the winter months upon us, Ride from FEI Originals takes a crisp morning canter in the heart of the UK’s capital with horses from one of London’s best kept secrets - Hyde Park Stables.

Episode 9: 

In Episode 9 we head to Oxfordshire in South-East England, to meet Ben Benson, one of just 17 Master Farriers in the world. The voice of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup - North American League, Catie Staszak talks commentary, and how passion speaks a thousand words. And we visit the Welsh woodlands where “Carnog Working Horses” are helping keep agricultural traditions alive.

Episode 10:

This Episode brings you “A horse for all seasons”: From the Scandinavian snow ponies Skijoering in Lapland to the sun-seeking steeds at Mozambique’s Maputo Riding school. And we brave the wet UK weather to meet Topspin, who’s been making waves in the eventing world with 2022’s Longines FEI Rising Star Alice Casburn.

Episode 11:

This month Ride from FEI Originals brings you “Horses for Hope” and celebrates the steeds helping service men and women with PTSD on the road to recovery at Horseback UK in Scotland. We saddle up for a once in a lifetime equine experience in the Australian Outback with “Horses and Cattle, Australia”, and plaud the people and ponies of Park Lane Stables, an award-winning Riding for the Disabled Centre in London.

Episode 12:

This month, Ride from FEI Originals revels in the “Power” of the horse, endorsing the equine rescue efforts in war-torn Ukraine and revealing how show jumping is helping promote national pride. We marvel at the magnificent American miniatures of KL Pony Therapy, bringing peace to poorly people across the UK, and celebrate the colossal Clydesdales that cultivate the land at Erewhon Station in New Zealand’s Southern Alps.
