Packing for your first horse show can be both exciting and overwhelming. A resident of Camden, S.C., Liza Boyd is an accomplished hunter/jumper rider and trainer. She is a three-time Overall World Champion Hunter Rider, a second-place finisher in the Washington International Equitation Finals as a junior, and a four-time winner of the Best Child Rider Award at the Washington International Horse Show. Liza has also won over 25 USHJA International and National Hunter Derbies and three USHJA International Hunter Derby Championships. She is the only rider to have won the WCHR Pony, Junior and Professional titles. She has won both the WCHR Professional Finals and the WCHR Palm Beach Hunter Classic Spectacular three times. Additionally, she has won multiple championships at the Devon Horse Show and the Capital Challenge. Liza has won the USEF Emerson Burr Trophy three consecutive times, and her horse Brunello has been named the USEF National Horse of the Year twice. In 2010, she was chosen by the USHJA High Performance Hunter Committee to be a member of the World Equestrian Games USHJA Hunter Derby Exhibition Team. Liza currently rides and trains at Finally Farm in Camden, S.C., offering lessons to hunters, jumpers, ponies, and equitation riders. Her training experience also includes a position as the Assistant Trainer of the Leading Junior Hunter Rider at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show.
