Large hats, long chaps and spurs – these are typical characteristics. Reining, the dressage test of western horses is nearly only ridden in canter. A reining test includes elements of the American way of training horses adapted to classic dressage tests. Circles in fast and slow canter, flying changes, spins, sliding stops, rollbacks and going backwards are important elements of every reining test.
