Marbach State Stud presents the stallions for the upcoming breeding season
“Go for Gold!” is the Marbach motto in the Olympic year 2016. The breeding season 2016 officially commences with the presentation of the stallions in the large indoor arena at Marbach State Stud on Saturday 27 February at 5pm.
Breeders and those interested will gain an overview on the stallions on offer in 2016. New Marbach stallions, such as the “Holstein” top stallions NEKTON and CANTO will be introduced. Marbach’s proven and renowned stallions will also be shown under saddle, in-hand and loose jumping.
The evening will be hosted by Dr. Astrid von Velsen-Zerweck, Head of Marbach State Stud who will provide the professional and informative commentary and Hendrik Schulze-Rückamp, international auctioneer will be the master of ceremonies guiding us through the evening in an entertaining and enjoyable manner.
Marbach's Show-Jumping Stallions
Marbach State Stud is very well-stocked with promising youngsters and established stallions, all with current pedigrees and talents for show-jumping or even both dressage and show-jumping.
The new young stallion CHILON (Hann. YOB 2013 by Check In) will show his qualities in loose jumping. The young stallions CHURCHILL (Württ., YOB 2012 by CASSITO), QUIWITINO (Holst., YOB 2012 by Quiwi Dream with Felix Hassmann winning “young show-jumping horses” tests with a score of 8.3 out of 10) and DONAUABEND (Trak., YOB 2012 by Abendtanz/T.) will be presented jumping under saddle. The very sought after LARIMAR (YOB 2004 by Lavall II) will also be introduced.
New to Marbach’s stallions on offer are the Holstein top show-jumping stallions NEKTON (YOB 2000 by Nimmerdor) and CANTO (YOB 2002 by Canturo) and the Bavarian ACAJOU (YOB 2000, grade A, won Advanced***) by Asti Spumante.
Marbach's Dressage Stallions
Marbach State Stud will present the youngsters for the upcoming breeding season 2016: The young stallions DAMON (Holst., YOB 2012 by Damon Hill), FÜRSTENHOF (Hann., YOB 2011 by Fürst Gradios) and ROCK MY SOUL (Westf., YOB 2012 by Rock Forever I) will travel from North Germany to be presented to breeders in Baden-Württemberg, South Germany.
A new addition to Marbach’s offer is the renowned Schwaiganger Stud stallion RIVERO II (YOB 1993 by Rautenstein) who belongs to the top 5% dressage stallions in Germany with a dressage breeding index of 144.
SIR NYMPHENBURG I (Württ., YOB 2005 by Sir Donnherhall I; breeding index: 140 = top 5%) and HOCHFEIN (Hann., YOB 2004 by His Highness; breeding index: 136 = top 10%) will deservedly enjoy a dedicated slot in the stallion presentation 2016.
LEMBERGER (Württ., YOB 2008 by Locksley II) and QUADROFINO (DSP, YOB 2008 by Quaterback) will be presented together with a fine selection of this year’s auction horses.
Marbach's Breeding Enhancer's "Go for Gold"
Multi-Champion Michael Jung is in the Olympic squad with three horses of Marbach origin (SAM by STAN THE MAN xx, ROCANA by ITUANGO xx and TAKINOU by JAGUAR MAIL).
Marbach’s continued “Eventing Breeding Programme” includes the stallions IL DIVO xx (YOB 2005 by Dashing Blade xx), ICARE D’OLYMPE AA (YOB 1996 by Feticheur AA); sire to Olympic horses ITUANGO xx (YOB 1996 by Acatenago xx), DSCHEHIM ox (YOB 1996 by PAMIR ox) who are significant enhancers for the breeding of eventing horses and will be proudly presented at the stallion presentation.
Altwürttemberger (Old-Württemberg) and Schwarzwälder (Black Forest) Heavy Horses: Breeds in the Preservation Programme
The stallions SADIE (YOB 2003 by Soran; Old-Württemberg blood share 56,3%) and the newly licensed LVV UMBERTO (YOB 2013 by ULYSSE DES PRÉS; Old-Württemberg blood share 25%) are two new stallions in the preservation programme “Old-Württemberg Horse” and available to breeders now.
Marbach State Stud will also present for 2016 the two Black Forest heavy horses FELDBACH (YOB 2005 by Feldsee) and MARKSTEIN (YOB 2008 by Montan), available via the EU insemination station.
